Stereotyping

According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, stereotyping means to believe unfairly that all people or things with a particular characteristic are the same. For example, when people assume all Malays are lazy and not punctual. Even worse, some of Malays also believe that it is true. In my opinion, stereotyping is destructive and should be stopped at all cost. Stereotyping will make particular race feel ashamed about their skin colour and they might  attempted to do stupid things to change it such as plastic surgery. Stereotyping can develop low-self esteem inside people. This will cause much worse consequences such as preventing people from believing that they can succeed in everything that they do and thus destroying any chances that they will succeed. Those people will become unproductive and might even think about ending their life as they think that their life do not have any meaning.

Critical Literacy

Hello, my name is Mohammad Hasan bin Basri. This semester I am going to learn a subject in my courses named Critical Literacy. Critical Literacy is considered to be 'killer subject' to my seniors. I have heard some remarks about this subject from them. Some of them said this subject is interesting and challenging. But most of them said that this subject is too difficult. They mentioned that the articles in the book are something that we usually skip or did not read them as they need to be evaluate properly and takes time to understand them. In my opinion, reading heavy material will enhance my brain power as i will learn new things and learn to think differently or from different perspective. I am thrilled to learn this subject. I hope I will learn something valuable from this subject.
